Intercultural education from the perspective of socioformative sustainability

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to identify the main characteristics of intercultural education and socioformation. The methodology was based on a documentary bibliographic search of the last four years with terms on interculturality, socioformation, training projects. The main results of the research were: 1) the intercultural education approach is oriented in contexts of multiculturalism or the presence of original groups to establish a dialogue of respect, inclusion and recognition between cultures, based on collaborative work and construction of knowledge. 2) Socioformation is applied in any social, educational, community field through an ethical project of life and seeking the resolution of real problems of the context, caring for the environment and promoting social development based on sustainability. 3) The conclusion of the study is that in the intercultural model it is possible to apply the socioformative approach through a pertinent pedagogical proposal that is applied with the collaboration of teachers, parents, students, political and educational authorities. It is suggested to make and propose new contributions and research from interdisciplinary approaches.
