Este estudo examina a relação entre os padrões de processamento sensorial e as habilidades acadêmicas, particularmente leitura e matemática, em adolescentes com dificuldades de aprendizagem (DA). Utilizou-se o modelo de processamento sensorial de Dunn (1997) para avaliar o padrão sensorial de adolescentes com e sem DA, juntamente com o Questionário de Dificuldades de Aprendizagem do Colorado (CLDQ). Participaram um total de 113 adolescentes entre 13 e 16 anos. Os resultados indicaram diferenças significativas nos padrões de processamento sensorial entre os grupos, com pontuações mais altas nos padrões de Observador e Sensível para o grupo com DA. Foram obtidas correlações significativas entre as pontuações de processamento sensorial e as habilidades acadêmicas, tanto em linguagem quanto em matemática. A análise de regressão mostrou que o padrão de Observador é um preditor significativo de dificuldades de aprendizagem. Esses achados destacam a importância de incorporar avaliações do padrão sensorial para uma melhor identificação e compreensão dos desafios enfrentados por adolescentes com DA.
