Abstract

Based on a review of a body of research related to the concepts of "Curriculum Development," "Enacted Curriculum," "Curricular Decisions," "Curricular Constructions," and "Deliberative Curriculum," this article proposes conceptualizing curricular decisions in the implementation of the curriculum from three different perspectives: Implementation of the prescribed norm, contextual reinterpretation, and curriculum construction based on foundations. The three approaches are developed based on how the process of curricular deliberation is understood and its consequences for the construction of the curriculum itself. The article presents the background of the literature exploration process, the description of the framework of general definitions that organize the presentation of the conceptualization exercise, a detailed presentation of the conceptual proposal, and, finally, the conclusions associated with the conducted exercise.
