This article refers to the compared study between two selected university application samples within the framework to access musical studies. This comparison aims to verify that the selection of applicants via the special entrance test is not decisive in the subsequent academic performance of the students. In this sense, a statistical hypothesis or null hypothesis (H0) is formulated where it is established that there is no significant difference in the academic performance of both groups. This means that the academic performance of both the groups that entered with the admission test and those that entered without it, turns out to be similar after three years of permanence in the academic program.
